Full CLA: #hrs.
Replace front ring: 1 hr.
front ring has 3 components: front engraved ring, filter thread ring (26611029) and cosmetic cover outer diameter ring (26611028). Some or all may need to be replaced in the event of impact damage.
The front ring acts as a focus cam retainer, so impact damage to the front ring can affect focus feel, sometimes damaging the cam/followers. If loosening/removing a dented front ring doesn't improve focus feel, then further damage to the cam/followers is likely.
