Service Manual: Disassembly/Re-assembly

Full CLA: 12-14hrs.
internal housing is on solid unit. entire lens must be dis-assembled to access focus doublet or rear optics.
Reposition focus stop:TBD
cam followers are spring loaded. If travels past stop, can jump out of track and jam focus. reposition focus stop and push followers back into track for focus travel.
adjust twist: 2-3 hrs.
Adjust S+Ts: 3-4 hrs.
40 & 50mm: under rear optical group, brass threaded ring will adjust height. rotate to find best vertical and horizontal lines. cannot be accessed or adjusted in real time.
bumpy focus: 4-8 hrs
various things to check:
#1: focus witness ring has piggy backed set screws under iris ring close to core of lens. check to see if set screws have worked forward and are interfering with bearing ring underneath.
#2: bearings may have dented focus section if impact damage. smooth and re-lube bearings (best effort)
#3: cam followers too tight or dented cam ways.
parts:
4 cam followers in focus section (all the same) 2 in front and 2 in back.
front and bake follower pins are different construction.
