Leitz Cine Summilux-C 50mm T1.4

Summary

The SUMMILUX-C lenses allow the subject to be captured as you see it without significant color temperature shifts or loss of clarity. All colors retain their natural look and feel with special care being shown to skin tones to keep them humane but without looking over sharp or flat. It’s a characteristic called creamy sharpness that can be seen as well as felt in an image.

Known Issues: If lens has impact damage, focus may feel rough/bumpy
focus cam has aluminum V-groove raceways on top and bottom in addition to the aluminum focus cam, with steel bearings (usually a poor combo). Bearings often dent the soft raceways, making focus feel bumpy/grindy. Will need a full CLA to access, smooth and adjust for good focus feel. Smoothing dents can be hit or miss in success rate and should add at least 1 hour to quote. Lens will need to be opened to confirm the severity of the dents. Replacement cam and raceway rings may be necessary if dents are too deep and/or too much sanding is required.

Service Manual: 50mm Disassembly/Re-assembly
