Service Manual: Disassembly/Re-assembly
Screws: DZO

Known Issues:
1.Stiff focus is almost always caused by the screws that connect the focus section with the rest of the lens being over-tightened, or by improper shimming between the focus assembly and the rest of the lens (they are black plastic shim), or a combination of both. Fixing this is very easy and does not require a full C&L. Just remove the beauty ring and front engraved ring and rotate the focus cam so that the silver socket head screws are visible through the access holes, then slightly back off the screws enough to allow the focus to feel good. The addition of shim between sections to prevent rubbing may be required as well.
Full CLA: 6-8 hrs.

Focus only: 2-5 hrs.
all external rings must be removed to access internal focus section. lens splits under focus scale. has cam/followers.
T+S front housing: 1-3 hrs.
To access: remove front ring, remove beauty ring, remove screws, rotate focus to just short of infinity mark, lift and twist off front engraved ring. (stop screws inhibit ring from coming off when at infinity). T+S screws located under focus scale.
Screws can snap off in holes. Increase labor if so. Replace with M1.6x4mm hex socket head screws.

Re-collimate: 1-2 hrs.
If collimation is still off: shims located between focus and zoom sections where lens splits can affect air spacing. add/remove shims to adjust air spacing.
Shim: OD: 2.80“, ID: 2.68”

Re-center image: 3-6 hrs.
per DZOFILM: swap zoom rollers to improve centering. Also one element in zoom section has set screws (not on X/Y axis) that can improve centering but element is still loose with screws tightened
If this does not fix issue within 6 hours, additional time and investigation will be necessary.

Screws broken in sub-mount: 1-2 hrs.
Remove screws if possible. Replace sub-mount when necessary.
DZOFILM Pictor sub-mount S/N info:
S/N starts in examples below according to focal length and part color. Specify when ordering.
Pictor 20-55mm(Black): 03XXXXXX
Pictor 50-125mm(Black): 04XXXXXX
Pictor 20-55mm(White): 18XXXXXX
Pictor 20-55mm(White): 17XXXXXX

Image shift due to impact damage: 8-10 hrs.
if lens has impact damage and issues in zoom section, quote full set of replacement rollers and C/L to access zoom section. some rollers may have flat spots which can cause image shift. (6 white rollers, 6 black rollers, quote brass posts as needed after opening)
If impact damage is minimal, full clean and re-lube may not be necessary. most rollers can be accessed without a full dis-assembly except for the front zoom group.
