CW Sonderoptic was a branch of Leica Camera AG responsible for designing and manufacturing high-quality components, specifically for the Cine line of lenses that Leica manufactured. CW Sonderoptic was made more widely known when they released the Summilux-C series of cinema prime lenses in partnership with Band Pro in 2009. In June of 2018, CW Soneroptic was renamed to Leitz Cine Wetzlar. All of Leica's cine lenses were re-branded as Leitz Cine. \\
