Full CLA: **2 hrs.**\\
notes here\\
Gear rotating in one direction only: **N/A**\\
gear rotates well when powered but only rotates in one direction by hand.\\
Per Heden: That is all normal behavior for our motors, most of our motors will be able to roll both ways by hand, but not all, it did not matter until relatively recently when we introduced the “Manual Override feature” see this short clip that explains the feature [[https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=244319536781836]]\\
Preston motor does not have built in manual override so this will not work. \\
Yemr motors have manual override built in.\\
Motor continues to spin when powered: **2 hrs. + parts**\\
most likely cause: encoder is broken. if so, entire internal motor must be replaced.\\
rarely: cause is broken wire between pin and lemo connector.\\
Replace encoder (broken encoder): **2 hrs. + parts**\\
encoder is built into internal motor, entire internal motor needs to be replaced. \\
rarely: cause is broken wire between pin and lemo connector.\\
To identify: oscilloscope will show none or only one squared line instead of 2 meaning encoder or motor is bad. replace motor if only 1 squared line is showing. \\
Calibration not responding: **1 hr. + part**\\
if internal motor and encoder both test good but calibration is not responding, resistor may be the cause. Replace and confirm.\\
part: resistor 3.3k\\
Replace internal motor (loud, slow, not calibrating well, continues to spin): **2 hrs. + Parts**\\
if motor is loud and adjusting screws on gear housing do not change sound and/or spindle has play or clicking noise, motor is worn out and needs replacement. \\
If adjustments to set screws on housing do not remedy then: Remove hub housing to access internal motor pin. tug on pin. If pin has some play in it then the bearings inside the internal motor and worn out. a replacement internal motor will be necessary to remedy. \\
Hub has lost motion: **1 hr.**\\
check: adjustment set screws, if hub locating slot or pin holes are worn, that housing screws are tight, if o-ring is in housing, if internal gear (white) screws are tight.\\
Dual Pin Upgrade: **1 hr. + parts**\\
single pin gear carrier is compatible with dual pin gear hub.\\
Automatically include dual pin carrier with upgrade unless otherwise specified.\\
if gear carrier is too tight to fit in new ger hub, try sanding gear carrier shaft slightly to fit better. \\
This requires installation by technician. adjustments to motor are necessary to ensure noise level and feel are within spec.\\
Motor does not complete Calibration: \\
Ask owner: If they are powering through the camera or externally. \\
If through the camera, are they using 12v or 24v output?\\
Does this issue persist with another motor int he same setup?\\
Can they confirm if the issue persists when powered externally (not through the camera)?\\
**motor needs to be powered externally (not through the camera) because the fluctuation in voltage form the camera affects the function of the calibration so that it can't complete the process.**\\
Heden is still working on a solution since this is not always a viable option for certain setups\\
Compatibility: Hedén Carat, Heden Ymer, Preston, Bartech, FreeFly MōVI\\
